fax: (520) 647-7102
e-mail: [email protected]

How do I estimate my annual fire district taxes?
Using a single family residential property in the Rincon Valley Fire District:
Limited Assessed: $20,600/ 100 = $206
Annual Taxes Due to the District: $206 * 3.12 = $642.72
To find out the limited assessed value, go online to www.asr.pima.gov and search for your property by entering your name, address or parcel number in the site’s Quick Search tile.
Could I see any cost savings?
Yes. Taxes paid to the fire district are tax deductible. In addition, check with your insurance company as this may lower your homeowner's policy. As soon as you initiate annexation, Rincon Valley Fire will respond to your home at no cost. Without annexing, you may be liable for response services. The average ambulance transport, for example, costs $1,800.
When would my fire district tax be due?
For a new annexation, taxes are assessed through the Pima County Tax Assessor's Office on an annual basis. If the annexation is complete by December 1st, the following tax year would be first time you see the fire district tax on your tax bill, similar to other taxes such as a school district.
What is the Fire District Assistance Tax, or FDAT, does this mean I am a district resident?
No. The Fire District Assistance Tax (or FDAT), which appears on your annual property tax bill, can be a source of confusion when it comes to receiving emergency services at your address. Property owners often assume that by paying an FDAT, they have fire and emergency medical service protection at their property. This assumption, however, is inaccurate. The FDAT provides for rescue services on any highway, street, or roadway within the State of Arizona. FDAT revenues are shared by all Arizona fire districts to assist with the cost of emergency rescue services outside established fire district boundaries. An FDAT fee is NOT the same as annexing into a fire district to receive emergency and preventative services at your property. These are two separate line items on your annual tax bill for two distinctly different types of emergency service responses.
I reside in New Tucson, what is our annexation status?
Have you seen us doing hydrant testing in "New Tucson"? Last year, we acquired some of this neighborhood (South of I-10 between Wentworth and Hwy 83) into our response area. If you reside in the response area and have not annexed your property yet, you will be receiving this letter from RVFD to keep you updated on the change.
